I LOVE them!!! They remind me of my old slip-on Sketchers that were navy blue. :) I wonder why...
HA! I know what this product is and I know the reason behind it. But, seriously, this picture is really stupid!!! She is not even posing as if she is using it, unless she's nursing one-handed on the go.
1. April 16/17 - Chris took some time off of work and fixed the drywall issues we had in the den and the master bathroom. *YEAH!!!*
2. April 17/18/19 - We primed and painted the den. (Go us!!!)
3. April 24/25/26 - My BFF, Tina, came down from Rockford, IL to visit for the weekend. We had a great time. We went to BB&B and picked out some curtains for the dining room and the den along with hardware and a tablecloth and some placemats for the breakfast area. We also collected ALL of the artwork throughout the house and relocated it. Looks great!!!!
4. May 1 - We chaperoned our church youth group's lock-in on Friday night. Wow...that was exhausting. I only stayed up until around 4am and then slept from 4am to about 7am when we started cleaning up. Chris didn't even get that much sleep. He slept in the car on the way home. I stayed awake because I had a baby shower to go to that afternoon.
5. May 2 - A coworker of mine had a baby shower so I went to that on 3 hours of sleep on Saturday. It was fun. We played three quick games, and did a little socializing beforehand. That's the kind of baby shower I like. Especially since I didn't know anyone there except the mom-to-be.
6. May 2 - We watched "Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father" on Saturday night. Oh my God. I think I used up an entire box of Kleenex. It was SOOOOOO good. I totally and completly recomend it, but only with plenty of tissue.
7. May 3 - We went to church (it's about time). After church we went shopping. We were originally just looking around at TV consoles for underneight the TV that is mounted on the wall. I had found one that I liked at Crate & Barrel but we wanted to shop around and make sure that was the one before forking over all our money. Well...we went to The Room Place (the new name for Harlem Furniture for those of you in the Chicagoland area). I really wanted to go in because I had designed this store when I was working for the people in Naperville. Well...we bought a king-size bedroom set and a king-size mattress set. We did not intend to do this. It just sort of happened. We had a set picked out from Crate & Barrel that was eeeeeeexpensiiiiiiive. The set at The Room Place (bed, 2 nightstands, dresser, and mirror) cost the same price as JUST THE BED at Crate & Barrel. So we gave up on the dream of the C&B set and just got our second choice. But it's still pretty nice. Sort of a combination of classic and modern. It will get delivered on Friday. I can't wait.
We then went to C&B and bought the TV console ($50 cheaper then online, WOOT).
Then on to BB&B to get king-sized sheets and a comforter set.
Then home to assemble the TV console and then 3 hours of disassembling the electronic components and reassembling them. Luckily we came up with the idea of using the lable maker to lable all of the cords. Go us!!!
While Chris was assembling the console, I started the daunting task of cleaning up the house. It was a MESS. It still sort of is. We've really let it go in the last few weeks and I have a large task ahead of me.
8. Tomorrow - We are having an Art Party. Very cool. I'm really looking forward to it. Its sort of like a tupperware party except with artwork. Ann & Dave hosted one that we went to and we had so much fun that we hosted our own. We are having a Cinco de Mayo theme (very appropriate) and serving tacos and chips 'n stuff.
So….I just had to make a couple weird phone calls, not so much weird, but just phone calls that I didn’t feel comfortable making from my cubical.
The deal that my father and I have between us is that I will probably end up inheriting all of his guns and weapons since my sister probably won’t want them and has really not shown much interest in them. Over the summer I wanted to “have” or “permanently borrow” a couple of the guns NOW since he has not shot a single one in over 15 years and guns are expensive and I did not have the funds to go buy my own. Later on my dad came to me with this idea or “deal” that he had for me. He is a life member of the NRA and as a life member he had the opportunity to give the gift of a legacy life membership. This is a life membership linked to his and at a HIGHLY discounted rate. If I wanted the guns then I would have to join the NRA. Fine. Not my first choice of a club to join, but I do ENJOY my right to bare arms and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is. So in August he gave me the paperwork and I sent in my money. They cashed the check and I forgot all about it. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and as I’m going thru my finances for 2008 I realize that they cashed my check and I have not heard a thing from them. Well…it turns out that there is a legacy life membership account opened and associated with my father’s account except there is no person assigned to it. Apparently they sent him the forms to fill out and he probably threw them away thinking they were junk mail. So…I had to try and call my dad and have him call the NRA to give them all my info. Because if they were to send the stuff via the mail again, it would take 4-6 weeks for them to send it out and another 4-6 weeks for them to process it. WHATEVER. Add to this that my father is practically deaf and cannot talk on the phone very well. This is everything that just lead up to be sequestering myself in an unused office and yelling at my dad about the NRA. Pfew...

Don't get me wrong. I love my family. But Christmas is like everyone in your family being cast in a play and being nervous about it. Its family time but shoved into the constraints and expectations of Christmas. I hope things go better next year.
